  • Usage data: General analytics about how you use the site (pages visited, cards sent, cards viewed).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send greeting cards on your behalf to the recipients you specify.
  • Send you a confirmation copy of cards you send.
  • Notify you when a recipient opens your card.
  • Generate AI card images and message suggestions based on your input.
  • Improve our service, including card designs and user experience.

3. Email Communications

When you send a card through eCardica, we send emails on your behalf to the recipient. We also send you a confirmation copy and a notification when your card is opened. We do not send marketing or promotional emails unless you explicitly opt in.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate eCardica:

  • Amazon SES: For sending transactional emails (card delivery, confirmations, notifications).
  • OpenAI: For AI card image generation and message suggestions. Prompts you submit may be processed by OpenAI's systems.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

Card send records (including sender/recipient information and messages) are retained to allow recipients to view their cards. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at cards@ecardica.com.

6. Cookies

eCardica uses session cookies to manage the card sending process (e.g., storing your card preview data between pages). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all pages, secure email transmission via Amazon SES, and access controls on our systems. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

eCardica is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
